The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault In Our Stars
by Adrian Martianto / 2S2
The film adaptation of "The Fault in Our Stars," a novel by Indianapolis-based author John Green, will arrive in theaters on June 6. The Indianapolis Star published this report on Indiana filmmaking in September 2013.This story tell about a bright 16-year-old who can hardly remember not living with cancer. She came perilously close to death as a preteen, but an experimental “miracle” treatment beat her disease back to relatively manageable levels: She has to breathe from a tube tethered to an oxygen tank she lugs around like a carry-on bag, and her lifespan has no clear prognosis, but she’s far from helpless.

Her parents (Laura Dern, Sam Trammell) are a loving, lovable pair who worry that Hazel is becoming depressed, as she has no friends and spends her time endlessly rereading reclusive author Peter Van Houten’s postmodern cancer-themed novel, “An Imperial Affliction.” After some insistently gentle prodding, she agrees to attend a weekly church-basement support group hosted by sappy Jesus freak Patrick (Mike Birbiglia). Here she meets Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), a strapping, clever, impossibly handsome 18-year-old whose basketball career was cut short when cancer took his right leg, but who appears to have since made a full recovery. He asks Hazel out on a series of chaste hangout dates, reads her favorite book, stays up until the wee hours on the phone with her, and ever-so-gradually brings her out of her shell.

Eventually Hazel learns that Augustus sent the pages to Van Houten because he wanted Van Houten to use the pages to compose a well-written eulogy about Hazel. Lidewij forces Van Houten to read the pages and sends them to Hazel. Hazel reads Augustus's words. He says getting hurt in this world is inevitable, but we do get to choose who we allow to hurt us, and that he is happy with his choice. He hopes she likes her choice too. Hazel states she does.

The main character is Hazel Graze and Augustus. Hazel Graze is a fascinating character because she a typical of the beautiful girl who suffered from pain and she is told from beginning to end.

Titanic

Titanic
by Yosua J / 2S2

One of the best movie I’ve ever watched is Titanic, by James Cameron. The movie was released on December 19th, 1997 in USA by Paramount Pictures. Titanic is a romance-drama movie about the love story between Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater on a luxury ship called Titanic. The movie is set in April 1912 is based on true story.
In 1996, a diligent treasure hunter Brock Lovett and his team search the wreck of Titanic for a necklace with a rare diamond called Heart of the Ocean. They found a drawing of a young woman (Rose) wearing the necklace. In 1996 Titanic hit a big iceberg which caused the ship to sink. Jack and Rose ride it into the ocean and he helps her onto a wooden panel but only enough for one person. He assures her that she will die an old woman, warm in her bed.
The part which I liked is when Jack helps Rose onto a wooden panel. At this part, Jack know that wooden panel will only enough for one person, and he gives this to Rose, this means Jack will die freezing. When I watch this part, it’s make me cry, because this is the best scene I’ve ever seen for me.
In my opinion, this movie is very good movie, because the actors are handsome and pro at acting, and the actresses are beautiful too. I think this move has no mistake at all. I recommended you to watch this movie because it’s spectacular.

Reviews Breaveheart

Braveheart

Braveheart is mostly set in Scotland. This story was about war against The Empire of England who wouldn't gave any chance of freedom to their people.
The King of Scotland doesn't have an heir to his throne, that's when The King of England takes over the country to be united, but with a cruel dictatorship and with a iron fist. Many are slaughtered by the army of The Empire but no one dares to resist them.
A kid, William Wallace, grows to be a barbarian who showed no mercy after the death of his father, brother and his loved one. He started the journey from nothing into something that's worthy to be recovered with.
People across England started to realize his name, his form, and his acts of disturbance. He begins to rebel and kills the nobility. Killing one by one, one after another. Then he finally gets the attention of the King, the King moves to eliminate him.
In Braveheart, the main characters was Mel Gibson ( William Wallace ). The story was full of fascinating characters, such as Angus McFadyen ( Robert the Bruce ). The most important characters in the movie are William Wallace, Munon and Princess Isabelle.
Conclusively, history can be plainly defined as the study of the past or a story of recorded events in chronological order. I would recommend this film because, there is so much tragedies and morals that you can pick and learn. Overall this was a great drama movies, great acts from the actor and mostly great plot even though the animation a little off but the characterization cover up the awkward animations.

The Imitation Game

The Imitation Game (2014)

Movie Review by Chitra.G / 2S2

The Imitation Game is true story of legendary cryptanalyst Alan Turing directed by Morten Tyldum, with a screenplay by Graham Moore based on the biography Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges. The movie is a critical and commercial success. Its cast and crew were honoured by LGBT civil rights advocacy and political lobbying organisation Human Rights Campaign for bringing Turing's legacy to a wider audience.

This film tells the story of Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch), a Cambridge-educated cryptologist and his team of mathematicians; Hugh Alexander (Matthew Goode), John Cairncross (Allen Leech), Peter Hilton (Matthew Beard), Keith Furman and Charles Richards, and including the pioneering Joan Clarke (Keira Knightley), working at Bletchley Park to crack Germany's Enigma code during WWII. In 1940, they finally succeed on breaking the Enigma code by making a machine named after Alan Turing's first love. After that, Turing decided to keep the machine and cherish his first love until the end.

I personally think that the movie is well-acted as it was well-scripted. Close enough to the real story. The main actor Benedict Cumberbatch performance itself is fantastic as always, he managed to brings out his talent and intelligence acting as the socially awkward, genius, Alan Turing. What I like the most is how Alan Turing is still deeply in love with his first love until the end of the story. In the end, it is a good film. Although for some people who didn't like a complicated story line, this film might be boring and hard to understand. but for those who enjoy complicated story, I would recommend this film.
